Flooding is NOT a homeowners Coverage
Did you know that flooding is NOT covered under a traditional home policy? Flood policies are written separately and the rates are regulated by the federal government. Floods can happen anywhere. Floodsmart.gov is a federally regulated website where you can type in your address and see if you are at risk for flooding. If you are in a high risk area you probably already have Flood insurance because your mortgage company will make it a requirement to carry it. Not only can you purchase flood insurance for your home, you can also purchase if you are a renter. The coverage is for Personal belongings only. Because the coverage is federally regulated, the price should be the same no matte where you go.
A homeowners policy does usually offer water/sewer back up coverage. You should call you company to find out if you have this coverage available to you.

Please allow me to Introduce......
Well... Writing has never really been my thing, so this will be an interesting experience.
First a bit about Alliance Insurance. We are full service Insurance Agency. We will do our best to insure every risk to the best of our ability. And if we can not insure you, we are more than happy to at least keep you informed. One of the things we Strive to provide is a different type of customer service experience. We truly believe in having a great one on one relationship with our clients. Not only is it in our best interest that you are happy but it also helps that we are so involved with what our customers may need or want out of an insurance agent. Some of the main things we insure are Auto, Home, Recreational Vehicles, Boats, Motorcycles, ATVs and Umbrella's. We do also look at Commercial risks and have written a numerous amount of different businesses that include, but are not limited to: Detail shops, pet stores, beauty parlors, contractors, roofers, car haulers, service shops, car dealerships and rental properties just to name a few. We usually can get a quote to you the same day if its on a personal lines level. Commercial lines can take a day or two to get numbers back depending on the risk.
Our intention of the blog is to keep you, the client/consumer, more informed on coverages and options as well as laws and regulations. If you ever wanted to know a bit more about insurance, this is going to be the spot. Of course we are limited to the laws of Wisconsin because that is where we are located. But if any of you out there are from out of state, you can always google search your local commissioner of insurance web page for the latest rules and regs.
